I like Photoshop not because it make me look like a better photographer, rather it helps me be a better artist.
Some times when I’m going through the previews of the photos I’ve taken I think
“Oh you know what that reminds me of…?”
Photoshop helps me nudge and drag my image closer to my idea.
I took a picture of Cher back in September and it had a green chiffon cape and it made me think about the photos of the 50’s and 60’s. Then it came to me with a little help this could be a picture in the style of Irving Klaw
Irving Klaw is best known for operating a mail-order business selling photographs and film of attractive women from the 1940s to the 1960s. He was one of the main reasons Betty Paige became famous.
Here is my version of his “style”
I took out the color and added some noise and the ubiquitous “negative number”.
